Location
Approx. 155 km to the
east of Homs - 210 km from the Hotel.
History
The greatest quantity of
ruins one have ever seen. Rose color limestone in the heart
of the Syrian steppe. A Vast Palm Oasis. The major Station linking
Mesopotamia and the Far East with the Mediterranean.
Principal sites are
Temple of Bel, Arch of Triumph, Senate, Agora, Theatre and the
museum. To the west the famous Arab castle Qalaat Ibn Maan
built in the 17th century.
