Halab was first mentioned in the archives of Ebla in the late 3rd millennium.

History

It is alleged that it is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. The excavations in the vicinity of Aleppo reveals settlements back to the 7th millennium. The old city is a world heritage site. Known for the largest covered souk in the world which has been the most important trading center linking Mesopotamia and the far East with the Mediterranean.  The citadel of Aleppo stands as the largest most prefect example of medieval local military architecture. It is a great place to experience the magic of the East.
